Course Requirements and Exam Dates

EXAMINATIONS

There will be five in-class tests during the semester and a final exam. The dates are given below. Each test will be comprehensive, testing all of the course material up to the date of the test. The tests will include a combination of multiple choice, true/false, short answer, and brief essay questions designed to encourage understanding of the role of particular facts and parts of arguments in larger arguments that lead to and explain understanding of major political concepts. Make-up tests will be administered only in extraordinary circumstances: when a student is out of town on an officially sanctioned university activity or when a student produces a note from a physician showing a test had to be missed due to illness. All make-up tests will be essay in form. The final must be taken at the assigned time. There are no make-up exams for a missed final. Any student who misses the final exam will be assigned a grade of F for the course.
